Helping Families First: The American Rescue Plan Documentary
When Kathy Greggs sees people struggling, she doesn’t wait, she leads.
As a U.S. Army Veteran and community advocate, Kathy has always believed that leadership means showing up for those who can’t always speak for themselves. Through her organization, Fayetteville PACT (Police Accountability Community Taskforce), Kathy helped produce a real-life documentary highlighting the urgent need for American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to reach Fayetteville’s working families — not get lost in bureaucracy.
This project isn’t about politics, it’s about people.
Families across the city are still recovering from the long-term impacts of COVID-19: rising housing costs, job instability, and gaps in access to mental-health and childcare resources. Kathy’s documentary brought these realities to the forefront, putting faces and voices to the statistics — and reminding leaders what accountability truly looks like.
“When government dollars are meant to help families, they should reach families — not stall in paperwork.” – Kathy Greggs
Action. Accountability. Advocacy.
Kathy’s leadership didn’t stop with the documentary. She’s been a consistent voice making sure Fayetteville’s ARP funds are used responsibly and on time.
✅ By December 31, 2024: City leaders must obligate all ARP funds — meaning every dollar should have a clear, approved purpose.
✅ By December 31, 2026: Those funds must be spent — getting real results into the hands of the people who need it most.
Kathy is holding leadership accountable to those deadlines, ensuring that the money supports families, small businesses, and neighborhoods instead of getting tied up in red tape.
That’s Kathy’s kind of leadership — see a need, take action, and fight for the community you love.
A Vision Rooted in Service
The Helping Families First initiative and documentary reflect what Kathy stands for:
transparent governance, compassionate service, and action that leads to impact.
From advocating for housing relief to helping families recover from natural disasters, Kathy’s work continues to remind Fayetteville what servant leadership looks like in practice — not just in promises.
“We can’t build stronger communities by waiting for someone else to care. We have to lead with heart, and lead now.” – Kathy Greggs
