Kathy's civic contributions extend to volunteering with Connections of Cumberland to support homeless women and children and managing disaster relief (for Hurricanes Florence, Irma, and Matthew) as a certified FEMA Disaster Operations Manager. Her leadership and advocacy have earned her numerous accolades, including the North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute’s "Community Leader Award," a Global Recognition Award, and the International Impact Award for her book, The Mother, The Soldier, The Activist. 

About Kathy Greggs

Kathy Greggs brings unwavering resilience, steadfast leadership, and a fearless voice to her candidacy for Fayetteville City Council District 7. A proud multiracial and decorated U.S. Army Combat Veteran, Kathy was born in New Jersey and raised in Germany in a military family that instilled in her a deep commitment to service. As a survivor of military sexual assault, Kathy channels her lived experience into powerful advocacy for justice, equity, and inclusive leadership.

With a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management, Kathy has spent over 25 years leading in the field of human capital development. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Theology, where she deepens her lifelong commitment to ethical leadership and community transformation. Her career also includes more than 17 years of distinguished Federal Civil Service, including at the elite U.S. Army Special Operations Recruiting Battalion at Fort Bragg.

Kathy Greggs brings the discipline of a soldier, the insight of a strategist, and the heart of a servant leader. She is running to advance meaningful, community-driven policy locally, statewide, and nationally, ensuring no voice is left behind and every Fayetteville resident has a seat at the table.
